3 night/4 days This short tour package can start from any Bulgarian airport (Sofia, Varna, Burgas) and is aimed to invite you to enjoy at your leisure the charm of Central Bulgaria. It takes you to Plovdiv, The valley of roses and Thracian kings and the old capital Veliko Tarnovo.
1.Day Plovdiv Fly to Burgas/Varna/Sofia and collect your hire car. Take the highway to Plovdiv. Leave your car at your hotel in the Old town. Enjoy the afternoon walking in the Old town of Plovdiv- beaufilul cosy streets, nice houses, little hidden churches, the Roman theather and stadion. Have a nice dinner in one of the restaurants on the main street. Overnight in Plovdiv.
2.Day Plovdiv-Tarnichene-Kazanlak- Triavna
Today is time to explore the valley of the roses and the Thracian tombs concentrated in central Bulgaria. Depart in morning in direction north to the village Tarnichene. There don't miss to visit the local rose distilery Enio Bonchev (http://eniobonchev.com/) where you will learn everything about the rose oil production from growing roses, harvest and extracting oil to rose-tasting.
The next stop is Kazanlak and the unique tomb (UNESCO sight) from 4.-3.c. BC nicely decorated (frescoes on the ceiling and the walls). And this is not everything for the day. Picturesque drive will take you Shipka peak where a magnificent view to the surrounding green area opens. Late afternoon you will be reaching the little town of Triavna where you can simply relax breathing the fresh mountain air or have a look in the craft shops in the Old quarter. Overnight in Triavna.
3.Day Triavna-Etara- Arbanasi-Veliko TarnovoThe next stop is Kazanlak and the unique tomb (UNESCO sight) from 4.-3.c. BC nicely decorated (frescoes on the ceiling and the walls). In the morning visit the interesting open-air museum Etara and travel to Veliko Tarnovo- the old Bulgarian capital. Walk in the old quarter at Samovodska street and visit Tsarevets hill. Late afternoon drive the nearest village of Arbanasi, simply walk around and take pictures of the old houses and churches in the village. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.
4.Day Veliko Tarnovo-airport
